Atlantic Kitchen seaweed wins four gold stars!5 August 2015
We had some fantastic news yesterday, amid the hustle and bustle of daily life here at AK HQ. Our Dulse seaweed won itself two gold stars in the Great Taste Awards and so did our Sea Spaghetti seaweed! Four gold stars in total! We are incredibly proud. Especially when we read the tasting notes, which we have transcribed for you here….
“A very beautiful, delicate torn-tissue like appearance. The dry seaweed has marked, deeply savoury sea vegetable notes. The flavour is true and clean – a walk along the beach with the tide receding. We very much liked the delicate texture of this dulse, both dry and cooked.”
Sea Spaghetti seaweed:
“Interesting looking twigs of seaweed. There’s certainly a seaside aroma to the dried seaweed, and chewed dry it releases gentle but marked sea flavours. Cooked according to instruction it looks like squid ink tagliatelle, and has a good, resilient texture. The saltiness is very reticent, just a gentle salinity. We love the subtlety and pleasing texture of this sea vegetable and can imagine a multiplicity of uses. Very clever!”
